A tribute to our beloved animals who have gone before us and wait for us at the Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called the Rainbox Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to the Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who have been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or mained are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Her bright eyes are intent; her eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly she begins to run from the group, flying over the green gass, her legs carrying her faster and faster.
You have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your beloved pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
`
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...
Jessie, our first Australian Shepard. She worshipped the ground Mike walked on and was his constant companion. She was a champion firsbee player and jogged with MIke until she was too old to run and jump any more.
Dec 31, 1985 - Dec 22, 2000
Peanut - the Princess of Silverleaf - she had so much personality and always had something to chat about. She used to sleep in Mike's arms every evening and they would have father/ daughter chats. Peanut left us prematurely in May 2000. She was a special kittie.
Tilly was Mike's old cat who lived on his boat with him and never quite seemed to adjust to live on land!
The three amigos, Peanut, Stash and Tilly.
All the precious Silverleaf animals rest under the pine trees in shady corner of Silverleaf Farm where they can still see the beautiful sunrise every morning.
White Horses
by Brenda Riley-Seymore
Don't cry for the horses that life has set free.
A million white horses forever to be.
Don't cry for the horses now in God's hand.
As they dance and they prance in a heavenly band.
They were ours as a gift, but never to keep.
As they close their eyes foreever to sleep.
Their spirits unbound. On silver wings they fly.
A million white horses against the blue sky.
Look up into the heaven, you'll see them above.
The horses we lost, the horse we loved.
Manes and tails flowing they gallop through time.
They were never yours, they were never mine.
Don't cry for the horses. They'll be back someday.
When our time is gone, they will show us the way.
Do you hear that soft nicker? Close to your ear?
Don't cry for the horses. Love the ones that are here.
